Synopsis of The Hiding Place

The autobiography of Corrie ten Boom tells of her loving, Christian family life in Holland in the 1920s and 30s.  Papa reads from the Bible every morning.  Mama and the girls take care of elderly aunts.  Corrie discovers she is more suited to working in the family watch repair shop than to taking care of the house.  With the conquering of Holland by the Nazis, however, their rhythm of life is changed dramatically. The ten Booms cannot turn their backs on God’s chosen people, their Jewish brothers and sisters.  They have a tiny, secret room constructed in their house so that Jewish people who are living with them can hide whenever German police come around.  The whole family is part of an underground network of those who help Jews escape from the Nazis, but they themselves suffer terribly after they are arrested.  This inspiring story tells of many miracles and other moments of grace experienced by the ten Booms.  It is an exciting and powerful book. It could be life-changing for you!
