7th & 8th Grade Basketball Finish 1st in BPAR |
The Evangel 7th and 8th grade girls basketball team finished first in the regular season with a 5-1 record while competing in the BPAR (Bossier Parks and Recreation). As a result, the team garnered the number 1 seed in the BPAR tournament which begins February 28, 2009.
The team consists of eighth graders Lendsay Alexander, McKenzie Ashby, and Baylee Shepherd and seventh graders Micah Green, Hannah Johnson, Kaleigh Opbroek, Shelby Ann Salley, Catherine Shouse, and Whitney Usie.
The Team is coached by Jimmy Ashby and Walter Salley.

8th grade Baseball Wins 2009 Championship |
8Th Grade Baseball Champions for 2009
What a perfect setting for the 8th graders. God provided the perfect sunset backdrop with a nice cool wind. EVERY player contributed somehow in that game Thursday. Discipline at bat, hustle, great plays, good pitching and brotherly encouragement was displayed at Dixie.
For many on the team, it was their last game to be played on the Dixie Field. Many had been playing on those fields since T-ball. Special times.. Special memories… Homeruns, shutouts, Nail biting wins and well battled defeats may be remembered, but the faces and names of the players will never be forgotten. Life lessons were taught on the field from many Godly coaches without saying a word at all.
Congratulations to the following 8th grade baseball team:
Cole Williams, Nate Fielder, Trent Taylor, Andrew Violet, Micah Bedsole, Spencer Goodwin, Seth Kysar, Dakota Duron, Chase Poland, Josh Davis, Scotty Harvill
Thanks to 8th grade Coaches Dan Kreamer and Chase Jennings who instilled great baseball but most of all Christian life lessons! Those kids will never forget! To God be the Glory!

Youth Softball Sign Ups going on now! |
Softball registration deadline is Wednesday, February 10th. 7&8 year old girls are coaches pitch and 9-12 year olds are live arm pitching. Your age is determined by how old you are January 1, 2010 - that is age group you will be playing in. Fees are the Dixie fee plus a $5 Evangel fee (see attached forms) and the cost of your uniform. In order to be registered, you need to have the attached 2 pages and your fee turned in to the Elementary School by the February 10th deadline. For more information call the Elementary Athletic Office at 318-683-1575.
