John Bachman - Head Football Coach, Sr.’s football career started at Southwood High School where he was a member of the state semi-final team that lost to Glen Oaks. After high school he attended Baptist Christian College where he played linebacker. While there he was voted to the small college All-American team after leading the nation in tackles his senior year. John coached for seventeen years in both Texas and Louisiana. John and his wife, Rhonda, have four children: John Jr., Thomas, Jason and Megan Claire. |

Byron Dawson - Defensive Coordinator is a 1998 Evangel graduate. Three out of the four years Byron played football for ECA the Eagles won the state championship. He was an All American his senior year and was voted All City, All Caddo, All District, All State, MVP, and Louisiana defensive MVP. He was also a two-time state champion in the shot-put while at Evangel. He signed a four year full scholarship to LSU where he received a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in history. He was also a four year starter and received defensive player of the game in 2001 SEC Championship. He coached the defensive line at Redemptorist High School in Baton Rouge in 2004. God called Byron and his wife Tinisha back to Shreveport last year. |

David Bass - Offensive Line was an All-City, All-District football player at Fair Park High School. As a Louisiana Tech Bulldog, David was an All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-American Guard. He coached at Haughton High School from 1966-68. David’s wife, Linda Bass; They have two daughters, Kristen and Emily, who both graduated from ECA. Their son, Carey, and his family Ashley, Van and Zack are avid Evangel fans. |

Clint Hortman - Video Technician has 17 years of coaching experience. He has served as a head coach at the middle school level at Glenbrook, Plain Dealing Academy, Claiborne Academy and University Christian Prep. He graduated from Louisiana Tech with a degree in health and physical education. His wife is Aimee and they have two children, A.J. and Brooke. |
