As a mighty Eagle on the Evangel Christian Academy football team, you made a difference. Today, I call on you to make a difference again.
This letter serves two primary purposes. The first is to tell you I’m thinking of you and I love you. The second is to ask for your help. You see, much like it was when you wore the “e”, our athletic program is in need. And, as our school has grown, the need has become even greater.
Recently, as I was praying over these needs, the Lord gave me a vision of reaching out to our football alumni. He stirred in my heart that an Eagle never changes. It is once and for always an Eagle. As a team of Eagles, we have always, and will always, do whatever it takes to make a difference.
This is the vision God gave to me: If each of our football alumni would commit to join and challenge other football alumni with a donation of $100 each year, we could generate thousands of dollars in a short period of time. What a blessing that would be!
We’ve set a goal, we have a game plan and we’re rallying our team. I know Evangel is, and has always been, in your heart. Perhaps you’ve wondered how you could do something for the school, the people who gave so much to you. Well, this is your chance. God’s plan is one of seedtime and harvest. ECA seeded into your life and now I ask you to help them reap the harvest that can come through you.
I am including an athletic “wish list” and a list of various levels of participation. Please pray and ask God what He would have you do and then respond to His lead. No amount is too small, and no amount is too large.
I’ve committed my life to using football as a tool to change young lives. Hopefully, that tool changed your life, as well. But, like any other building project, it takes more than one workman, more than one tool to do the job well. If you can’t help with our financial needs, you can definitely help by praying for us. We covet your prayers.

You will receive a monthly “Notes from Coach” (EMAIL) about Evangel news & a “Did You Know” section (EMAIL) that will tell you of the latest accomplishments of our alumni, school facts that you might not know, etc… I will also include God stories that continue to happen at Evangel & in our Alumni’s’ lives.

IN CLOSING: I want you to know that Evangel is still home to you. I have such great memories of my time with you. You were each so unique & different. I’ve always said that what I’ve lost in $$$ that I might have made if I would have coached somewhere else –God more than made up to me because I have you & my friendship with you is lifetime. $$$ can’t buy that!!! I really don’t remember the championships (although they were nice) – I remember you. I pray abundant blessings on you & your families.

***Did You Know???***
1. We were the academic state champs in 2006. We tied Caddo Magnet for first place – yeah that Caddo Magnet!!!
2. Jordan Powell is in the record books for eighteen straight completions during the 2007 state championship. MVP Jeremy Little caught nine of them. Josh Booty, Philip Deas, Brock Berlin, Brent Rawls, John David Booty, & “D” Rod Duron didn’t do that – GOOOOOOOOO Jordan!!!
3. Morris Cox is a graduate with masters from MIT.
4. Andy Bond & Michele Moore of the class of 2002 just got married. Andy is a fireman & Michele still works @ Morehead Pools.
