History

Evangel Christian Academy opened its doors in 1980 for kindergarten through sixth grade, adding the seventh and eighth grades in 1987, and the high school in 1989.  Founders Rodney and Frances Duron had the vision of establishing this Christian school in West Shreveport with the desire “to raise up a righteous generation.”  Evangel enjoys state and national recognition in academics and athletics, with eight state football championships and one national championship.

Accreditations

Evangel is accredited by the State of Louisiana, and all its faculty members are required to have teacher certification, qualified and actively pursuing certifications, or teaching in the field in which they majored.  In addition, the school received accreditation by the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges (SACS-CASI) in May 2005.
